My Favorite Kitchen Tools, Part 2: Time-Saving Gadgets

In Part 1 of this series I shared my love for the Food Chopper, a tool that I use practically every day (sometimes more than once a day).

Today I am going to talk not just about one tool, but about several that I use and love. I may not use these daily, but I don’t know what I’d do without them. Since I’m having a Pampered Chef party, I thought now would be a good time to tell you all about the Pampered Chef gadgets I already own.

Bamboo Spatulas – these are my main cooking spatulas. I use these for everything from stir-fry’s to scrambled eggs.
Mix ‘N Chop – This is really the only way to get even bits of ground beef! Efficient, effective, even distribution, and even works as a masher.
Tool Turn-About – I have one of these in white. I prefer a clutter-free counter, but I just have to have my essentials within reach.
Quickut Paring Knife – Every kitchen needs a few of these around. They are especially handy for opening those shrink-wrapped seals around supplement covers.
Cheese Knife – I use this all the time. I purchase those large chunks of cheese and this slices right through.
Rotary Grater – This is so versatile! I use it most for parmesan cheese, but also works well for nuts.
Egg Slicer Plus – I hardly ever use this to slice eggs, but I use it often to slice olives, bananas, kiwi, and strawberries.
Silicone Basting Brush – I use this brush to pre-grease my stoneware, especially my pizza pan and muffin cups, without messy fingers.
Oven Mitt – This is the best mitt I’ve found anywhere. It’s nice and thick and I never have to worry about burning myself. I have two.
Pie Crust Shield – If you make pies, you need this shield. Don’t mess with aluminum strips that float off when you open the oven door.
Pie Gate – I don’t use this daily, but when I make pies, I must have it. Keeps all the filling where it should be without it floating into the empty space.
Classic Scraper – This is my first choice when I am mixing a recipe in my stand mixer. I am able to scrape everything down well with the flexible end.
Mini Serving Spatula – This is perfect for cutting PB cup bars or other snacks you only need a 1″ square for. I find other spatulas too large.
Small Batter Bowl – Whenever I mix anything by hand, this is the bowl I grab. Great for pancakes since you can pour them right out of the bowl. I also use for storing batches of rice.

In a day or two I will share with you some of the new gadgets on my wish list :)

If you decide to purchase any of these before Wednesday, February 15th, please enter my name (Lea Harris) as the host so I get credit for my party. If you want to take advantage of the stoneware being 20% off, you’ll need to enter my name, otherwise the Guest Special page with the sale prices won’t be available to you and you’ll pay full price.
