Lea’s Easy Bread Recipe
Set oven temp to 350 degrees.
In stand mixer with dough blade, add the following:
- 3 cups freshly ground whole wheat flour – I grind my own flour with hard red wheat berries in my Country Living Grain Mill
- 2 teaspoons dry active yeast
- 2 teaspoons sucanat or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon REAL salt (with the pink tinge)
Turn the mixer on low, and add:
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup cold milk
Turn up to medium (not too fast or the flour will puff out):
- 2 more cups flour, or until dough forms a ball and doesn’t stick to sides (you may need up to 2 ½ cups).
Then add:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil – or melted coconut oil
Let mix a good 5 minutes, as you butter the pan. When oven is to temp, put the dough in the bread pan, pressing down until top is flat, and dough is pushed up to all the edges. Set in oven.
Turn off oven. Leave bread in there to rise in the warmth for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes has passed, turn on oven to 350 degrees and bake for 32 minutes.
Remove from oven. Overturn bread onto cutting board, then adjust so the bread is bottom side down. Let cool a minimum of 10 minutes before slicing.
Enjoy!

I’m sure this cost way less than my Sara Lee 45 calorie bread! We don’t eat much bread and usually half of the loaf will go to waste. This will be much better I think since the loaf is smaller. I will give this a try. Thanks
