Bug Block - review and giveaway!

Who’s tired of the bugs?

Who wants a bug block with staying power?

Then you’re going to want to read this review and enter the giveaway for MadeOn’s Bug Block.

I have reviewed MadeOn’s hard lotion for you here and here - my favorite hard lotion is the Au Chocolat. It actually makes for a wonderful deodorant (I think it’s the beeswax!).

And now I am thrilllled to review for your their Bug Block. I’ve been waiting since last year to try this out :)

I love hard lotion because it stays on all day long. No need to keep re-applying.

So what is hard lotion?

A solid, not a liquid, at room temperature. Hard lotion is designed with staying power! I remember when I first used hard lotion - I couldn’t believe how silky soft my skin was. The combination of beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil is just perfect.

I like the mess-free aspect of a block. Just glide over your skin and you’re done. It comes in a pretty tin lined with tissue paper, and the tissue paper is usually what I grab the block by.

So what are the ingredients?

All hard lotion is based with beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil. The beeswax is what makes it firm at room temp, and what makes it stay on your skin for hours on end.

The Bug Block also contains essential oils of citronella, cedarwood, and lavender. It smells wonderful to me, but the bugs stay farrrr away.

Need 8-hour staying power?

No problem!

My husband and kids are building a tree house in our yard, and I’ve been out to help a few times. Talk about swarms of mosquitoes! They are awful under the pine trees. I had three ankle bites in minutes. I ran back in the house and grabbed the Bug Block, rubbed it on my ankles, legs, arms, hairline, and anywhere else I could think of. I went back out and I couldn’t get a mosquito to get within two feet of me!

I love that I can apply safe all-natural ingredients to my skin without harm to my body, and I also feel comfortable putting it on my kids.

Unlike lotions that absorb quickly into the skin, hard lotion stays on top of your skin and is more effective.

  1. My family and I will be out this month at the beach, hiking, and playing outside this summer
I do not want to put harsh chemicals on my 15 month old! I love natural alternatives!!! Summer is officially here in 6 days people!! Thanks

  2. I would like to win because my backyard is mosquito headquarters! I have a one year old that currently has 22 mosquito bites. We no longer go outside. This is no way to live. Thank you soooooo much for the review. I’m happy to have found a non-toxic option.

  3. We enjoy spending time outdoors but really dislike being bit by mosquitoes. I love that this bar is natural AND stays on for a very very long time!

  4. I would love to win this because my kids (and I) are extra sensitive to bug bites and we also can’t tolerate most of the bug repellents on the market these days. It would be great to be able to try something like this. :)

  5. We live with woods behind our home and late afternoon and evening makes it nasty to be outside. Would love to try this!
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to win.
