Nourishing Adaptogenic Infusion - Adrenal Tonic

Yet another month, yet another great Herb Box! This month’s herb is Nettle.Take a peek at my goodies…

One of the hands-on activities is to make an herbal infusion with a mixture of nettles, holy basil, and licorice. This nourishing adaptogenic infusion is a wonderful tonic for your adrenals.

Here is what I did to make mine…

I placed 5 TBSP of the pre-made Nourishing Adaptogenic Infusion blend in my jar and poured boiling water over it. I screwed on the cover and let it sit overnight (OK, I confess, I snagged a cup of tea out around bedtime and added more hot water to replace what I took. Sooo yummy!).

In the morning, I put the nylon mesh strainer over a mason jar funnel that was set in a new mason jar, and I poured out the infusion.

All poured out :)

I mashed the herbs with a fork to push out every last drop of water.

Done! :) Now I have a richly steeped nourishing adrenal tonic.

You can drink right away, and store the rest in the fridge for 2-3 days. Mine will be gone before then, that is for sure :D

You can find a free issue of Nettles in our herb group on facebook. 66 pages packed with information about nettles, as well as recipes :)

You can purchase bulk herbs on Mountain Rose Herbs, and also on Vitacost. If you are a new customer, you can get a $10 coupon (I get one, too!) if you sign up here.
