reCAP Screw-On, Pourable Mason Jar Lids - review and giveaway!

I had this superwonderful idea of a pourable mason jar cap for my wide mouth mason jars. I was tired of spills! I googled it, and what did I find? Someone just as brilliant ;) reCAP already making them - but for regular mouth jars. Karen said they did have wide mouth lids in the works, and so I waited.

And now I have them!!

I am sooooo excited to have pourable 1/2 gallon mason jars! I use the 1/2 gallon size to store my farm milk and kefir. But as anyone who has ever tried pouring liquids out of a mason jar knows - you are just going to spill some! Or at least get some drips down the side…that is unless you have a reCAP!

The inside of the BPA-free lids have a rubber gasket making them impossible to leak from the threads.

I am really impressed with how well these stay closed. The photo at the top of the page shows the very small ridge on the inside of the cap - when you close it, it is nice and snug, without being impossible to re-open.

I am in love!!!!

  1. I have seen that you can use these to make a lid for fermenting and I would love to try it out! I have just recently bought a regular size lid and have to get the other pieces to use it for fermenting, but I am very excited to try it and would love to have wide-mouth size caps, too! Thanks!
