Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition - review and giveaway (three winners!)

I am excited to review for you one of my favorite books, Cure Tooth Decay by Ramiel Nagel.

If you’re a fan of Dr. Price’s work and want to know a practical approach to healing teeth issues, you’ll want to get this book.

In the introduction you will learn a vital pieces of information: your teeth are not designed to decay. Cavities may be common, but they can be avoided. This book will show you how.

Chapter 1 describes the modern theory of cavities and explains why the bacterial theory of decay is false. The claim that sugar on your teeth can cause tooth decay doesn’t make sense because sugar actually acts as a preservative. Think about the baked goods with all that sugar - a Twinkie, for example. It can last for decades with no decay. This chapter describes in detail why, scientifically, sugar on your teeth isn’t the bad guy.

Why Do Teeth Decay?

In Chapter 2 Ramiel Nagel answers the question “Why Indeed Do Teeth Decay?” The answer is fascinating. Dr. Price found that groups of people who had plenty of minerals (particularly phosphorus) and fat-soluble activators had what he called “100% immunity to dental caries [cavities].”

The short answer to the question about why teeth decay is: we’re not consuming enough minerals to build strong tooth enamel, and we’re not eating enough fat to release those minerals into being able to work in our bodies.

This chapter is full of information and Dr. Price’s work and photos showing you, in an easy-to-read style, just why teeth decay. Also included is Dr. Price’s Tooth Decay Curing Protocol. Dr. Price’s protocol is amazing - just one health meal a day and children’s teeth started healing. Part of the protocol was just 1/4 tsp cod liver oil together with 1/4 tsp high vitamin butter oil with meals.

Also included is a table listing how much calcium, phosphorus, vitamins A and D you need to consume as well as the % of calories from fat you should eat in a day for healthy teeth.

Backed by Science

Chapter 3 goes into the “riddle of tooth decay” and body chemistry, blood sugar, dental plaque, gum disease, as well as Dr. Melvin Page’s Fundamental Food Plan for balancing glands.

If you’re a science geek, you’ll love learning that it takes a 25% imbalance of body chemistry to cause tooth decay, and a continued low level of phosphorus, over several months, to deplete the dentin of its mineral structure.

Oh, it gets better than that! You will learn the ratio of calcium to phosphorus you need to prevent tooth decay, exactly what overactive gland causes gum disease, and so much more.

Healing Teeth

Chapter 4 addresses teeth healing, including the best remineralizing protocol. Daily guidelines, foods to avoid, sources for high-nutrient foods, important considerations, and more.

An extensive list of types of foods and how to eat them (cooked, uncooked), addresses assimilation problems, and gives a thorough list of foods to avoid and why.

Have tooth pain? A list of what to do (apply clove oil is one suggestion) and what the pain could mean (abscess? loose filling?)

And much, much more…

All that you just read was taken only from the first half of the book! You can already see how much information is in here.

Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition - review and giveaway (three winners!) — 33 Comments

  1. I’d like to win because I think dental health is an area of health and well-being that isn’t often addresses, and I know that I have a lot to learn.

  2. I would love to have a copy of this book to help my son not have a mouthful of teeth like mine. He has had one teeny tiny tooth filled and now has another one that needs to be filled at some point. I would love to have this book so I can heal the tiny cavity he has now so he does not have to get a chemical laden filling done.

  3. I’d love to win this book because my 5-yr-old has already had a cavity :( We already eat a WAPF-inspired diet, but clearly we have more to learn!

  4. I would love to win this book because my 6 yr old DS has had two cavities already. I have started giving him and his siblings FCLO, but I would like to learn more about this.

  5. With our first child quickly approaching six months, I am anxious to learn the tips and tools now for helping him experience oral health for the rest of his life!

  6. Despite following WAPF guidelines, taking FCLO and HVBO, going on GAPS and giving up sugar and grains, I continue to deal with cavities forming in my poor teeth. I’ve had almost all of my teeth filled at least once and I’m only 25. My parents are in their mid-forties and my dad has worn dentures since his 30′s and my mom has a mouth full of caps, bridges and root canals and is now dealing with on-going jaw bone infections. I don’t know what else I can do to avoid the fate I see myself heading towards, I’m hoping this book might be able to give me some hope!

  7. I so want to read this book! I want to give my children healthy teeth and cure my own and my husbands, We have had so many problems ourselves and we owe it to our children to give them better terms. Love from Mie, Denmark.

  8. Oh what a blessing it would be to win this wonderful book,I have been recieving his e-mails but can not afford the book. Thanks for the opportunity to win this :)

  9. I want to win this book so bad!!! I just found another two wholes in my teeth. I have been having molars pulled since I was in highschool. I am freaking out. I am only 24 and already have 3 molars gone, plus 3 of my 4 wisdom teeth, these two new holes are in my front teeth ACK! I have been studying Weston Price and love his work. I watched some of Ramiel’s videos and love it!

  10. I have been wanting to read this book ever since you first started talking about it. Our local library doesn’t have it and we can’t afford anything extra, so this would be a great prize for me! Thanks for the opportunity!

  11. I have been doing research on reversing tooth decay, and this would be wonderful to add to my search for better dental health, both for myself and my children =)

  12. I would love to win this book. I have thought for a while that the reason for my own adrenal problems originated with problems with my teeth.

  13. What an informative review! I would love to win this book! Its been on my ‘to read’ list for ages…ever since I broke a tooth this last winter (yikes!). I’d love to know what I can do to strengthen my teeth naturally rather than just letting the dentist have his way with my mouth…
